Through music, 口语, interactive craft tables, and personal testimonies, come and learn how to empower yourself and make a difference around these issues. Join us in support and solidarity for victims and survivors everywhere and make a commitment to end all forms of violence and oppression.
Cal State LA's Center for Contemporary Poetry and Poetics welcomes Luis J. 罗德里格斯 as our 2024 reader in the Jean Burden Poetry Series. Through the power of words, this acclaimed poet, 小说家, children’s book author and journalist saw his way out of poverty and despair. Successful as a Chicano poet, 罗德里格斯 thought he had put the streets and his own days as a gang member behind him—until his young son joined a gang.
Join us for a day of service as we will be assisting our community partner, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Volunteers will help assemble food packages for more than 29,000 families, older adults, and children who face food insecurity in Los Angeles County. Transportation is provided.
